Why Choose
Custom fit earplugs for shooting represent a specialist approach to hearing protection designed for firearms users. These professional earplugs are precisely engineered to protect against the intense impulse noise generated by firearms while maintaining situational awareness and clear communication capabilities.
These specialized earplugs serve a diverse range of shooting enthusiasts and professionals. Military personnel and law enforcement officers find them particularly valuable during training and active duty. Competitive shooters benefit from the consistent protection during tournaments and practice sessions. Hunting enthusiasts appreciate the ability to maintain environmental awareness while protecting against firearm discharge noise.
Recreational shooters who frequent indoor or outdoor ranges find these earplugs essential for regular practice sessions. Firearms instructors, who spend extensive time around gunfire, rely on them for sustained hearing protection while maintaining clear communication with students.
Custom fit shooting earplugs offer superior hearing protection, comfort, and situational awareness compared to generic options because they create a precise seal tailored to the individual's ear, maximizing noise reduction while allowing for clear communication and perception of non-harmful sounds.
The acoustic design of shooting earplugs incorporates sophisticated filtering technology. These filters react instantaneously to sudden impulse noise, providing protection within milliseconds of a firearm discharge. This rapid response time is crucial, as the brief but intense sound pressure from firearms can cause immediate hearing damage.
Many models feature specialised venting systems that help equalise pressure and prevent the occlusion effect - the hollow or booming sound of one's own voice that can occur with traditional earplugs. This feature is particularly important for instructors and others who need to communicate effectively while wearing hearing protection.
Environmental Adaptability
Custom shooting earplugs are designed to perform consistently across various environments. They maintain effectiveness in both indoor and outdoor ranges, adapting to different acoustic spaces. The materials used resist temperature changes and moisture, ensuring reliable protection in diverse weather conditions.
Professional Integration
These earplugs often complement other protective equipment used in shooting sports and professional applications. They work seamlessly with safety glasses, hats, and other headgear without compromising their protective seal. Some models can be integrated with electronic communication systems, making them particularly valuable for tactical operations.

Earwax removal is a process of cleaning our ears of excessive earwax that has built up in our ear canals. There are a number of different methods used to try and do this including the preferred method of microsuction, ear syringing / irrigation or manual removal. Some people can also remove their earwax blockage by using over-the-counter ear drops.
See our earwax removal page for more information.
Microsuction is a professional earwax removal technique where a professional uses a specialised microscope and a medical suction device to carefully vacuum out earwax. Unlikely ear syringing where water is injected into the ear canal creating unnecessary risk of injury and hearing damage. Microsuction is safe, effective and painfree. It is the only treatment technique we use at Bristol Ear Health and is the national recommended method of earwax extraction.
Read more on our earwax removal page.
Prior to your appointment we will review your symptoms and consent form to make sure microsuction is suitable for you. When you arrive, you will be welcomed by our staff. We will start with an assessment of your ears. Depending on what we find, we will either proceed with treatment or review any findings. Treatment takes approximately 15-20 mins for most people. Following treatment we will review your ears again and assess your ear drums for any issues. If we find something we don't like the look of we will provide you a referral letter and digital imagery to share with your NHS GP.
